The Congolese Community of Washington Metropolitan (CCWM) invites all members, families, and friends to join us on January 4th, 2025, for a special evening of celebration and reflection. The event will be held at 1 Veterans Place, Silver Spring, MD, starting at 6:00 PM.

This date is particularly meaningful, as it marks both the beginning of the new year and Martyrs Day—a day of remembrance for those who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for Congo’s independence. On this occasion, we honor their legacy and reflect on the freedom they fought for.

The evening will include a blend of joyous celebration and solemn tribute, with traditional Congolese music, dance, food, and heartfelt speeches. It’s an opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate our culture, and reflect on our shared history and progress.
